  • No body has an open mind. They want to put down what others think and believe because of what they believe. I am a Christian and firmly believe as Jesus as my savior and the only way to heaven but I won't hate the muslim for what s/he believes. I think most people are scared of what they do not know. For fear that they might be suched into a different religion or that it may have an effect on them negativly.
  • Anything that deals with strong beliefs will be touchy for people.
  • Because people become so bound up in being "right" that they become arrogant to the views of others and want to believe that they have the only "Truth." Once one becomes invested in something to the extent that people tend to be with religion, they begin to identify with it such that it becomes part and parcel of their self identity. Any perceived attack or criticism on the religion becomes translated into a perception of attack on one's self. Ironically for those who believe they have the only truth, the real reason for such "touchiness" about it is the deep fear that they may, in fact, be wrong.
