  • no why should they. they were once bred for fighting but this is no longer the case, they are loving affectionate animals i have 2 and they dont even bark at other dogs they just carry on walking by. i get so angry when people mention staffordshire bull terriers to be a vicious dog as anyone who knows the breed knows this isnt the case. there are some nutters out there that breed dangerous dogs for fighting and advertise them under the code name of "irish staffs" red nosed staffs and american staffs and this is unfair and where the confusion starts
  • Staffordshire Bull Terriers should definitely be banned. I am not doubting that the majority of owners of these dogs are responsible but there are a minority (which is growing, sadly) of thugs who terrorise these dogs and train them to fight. This is disgusting animal abuse but there is no doubt that these dogs WILL attack and with little provocation. If the breed was banned it would make a difference both to the number of attacks and to the mindless cruelty suffered by these animals at the hands of these thugs
  • NEVER by far the owners who dont no wat they are doing with this type of dog should be banned they are by far the best dog going if u no wat u r doing they can give u loads of love and fun i have 4 in a family of five my children love them and play with them all day so if any one should be banned its the people giving them bloody bad names this is my family of staffs

  • They are banned in parts of Florida, and in Ontario, Canada. They are most likely banned elsewhere as well.
  • so because of a small minority of bad owners all the responsible stafforshire bull terriers should have our beloved family members banned through no fault of there own i dont think u have ever owned a staff or know anyone who has owned a staff they do not attack with little provication how absurd no staffie is the same i take it u are not aware the uk kennal club recomends the stafforshire bull terrier if u have children one of only 2 breeds that the kennal club recomends for children surely the uk kennal club would not recomend the dog for children if it attacked with little provication would it bottom line research the breed before u go on about it or better yet speak to a staff owner if u banned staffs all the thugs would just pick another breed to destroy
  • if staffs are banned just from that stupid fuking article in the paper then fuck that lil gurl 4 all i care she could die but i aint letting mii dog get put down just 4 a stupoid lil gurl i mean c'mon it's just like saying lets ban every boy or gurl! and that gurl must ave done soming 4 that dog 4 her 2 do that and if she wuz doing soming then go doggie and piss of lil fat ugly gurl!!!
  • I dont think they will ever be banned. I have a 4 year old staff and he is the best dog ever!!! He's great with all the kids that come to my house and he loves everyone. People who disagree should actually spend a day with a staff then they will see for themselves what affectionate dogs they are and how great they are with kids and everyone around them.
  • staffies should not be banned. blame the deed not the breed!!!!!!! they have a bad name because of irresponsible owners i think it is ridiculous why all of them get a bad name for something a few dogs have done what their owners have trained them to do. they are a powerful breed but they are so loving and gentle i dont trust any other dog with my kids. i know of spaniels and labradors who have mauled kids and do they get a bad name no. it is the individual dog not the breed I VOLunteer for the staffie rescue and it is so sad how many of these dogs are being mistreated and abandoned. also they are just giving them up for silly reasons. they should have thought about it more before getting a dog
  • Do I think Staffs will be banned in the near future? I hope not. I think Staff owners should be banned ! All staff owners defend their dogs by saying, 'it's not the dog, it's the owner.' YOU SAID IT. Have you ever seen some staff owners? They look more frightening than their dogs. Just been for a walk with my dog and talked to two other dog walkers. They both had a story to tell about how a staff had attacked their dogs. One owner told me her English sheep dog was so traumatized by the attack he is not confident and friendly anymore. There are countless articles in the newspapers and online about staffs who have viciously attacked other dogs and people, yet again and again, the staff owners say, well 'my dog didn't' These are the kind of people who would say 'well he's never done that before' if their dog actually did harm to another dog or human. I was in south east London last week. I love animals, I love dogs. I saw a staff and went up to it to say hello. NO ANIMAL HAS EVER TRIED TO ATTACK ME - EVER ! This staff went beserk as soon as I approached it. I told the owners that something was seriously wrong with their dog for responding like that, and that it must be totally stupid to think I was a threat to it because I wasn't. Then the owners laid into me, the woman looked like a demented drug addict. I feel sorry for staffs. Dogs take after their owners, and the staff owners I have met are not calm, intelligent people.
