Definitely grander. Thanksgiving was sumptuous but standard and traditional. Christmas will be simpler in concept, but more "grand" as you put it. Salad of greens with pear, toasted walnuts and gorgonzola cheese with a hazelnut oil vinaigrette. An appetizer of large ravioli stuffed with duck confit, wild mushrooms and pecorino cheese. Main course will be seafood-chicken-sausage gumbo (shrimp, crab, oysters, chicken and andouille). That will be served with homemade focaccia. Dessert will be Italian Cream Cake, Grand Marnier Souffle, and French macarons (A light airy cookie made primarily of egg whites, sugar and almond paste), served with coffee and assorted liqueurs and dessert wine.
