  • The wiring between your amp and your subwoofer(s) is not relevant to the fuse blowing. What is relevant is the wiring/fuse between the battery and the amplifier and the amount of power that the amplifier consumes. The amplifier is rated for 1000 Watts, but that may be conservative. If it consumes over 1200 watts, that's over 100 Amps of current (Power (Watts) = Voltage (12 V in car systems) X Current (Amperes)), which will blow the fuse. You need to upgrade to a larger fuse. Also, 4-gauge wire is TOO SMALL to carry 100 Amps+, you should upgrade to 1-gauge wire or larger (Check out the "maximum amps for power transmission column" here) http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm Good luck (and please stay out of my neighborhood when you're cranking your bass...;-D...)
  • you should do the big 3, does amp require 4 guage.what is your alternator pushing.how many batterys u running, ypur fuses are blowing because you are drawing to much power..jl audio has your wiring diagrams for the sub. you need more power.when a amp draws current and cannot pull enough itll get hot burn fuses..steve_swny@yahoo.com
