  • The Bible is a lesson in contradictions. This isn't the only one. But yeah, you are right, God is supposed to be omnipotent. But you will get the answer 'We are all children of God' to this question. Which, trust me, screws this argument right up for the person trying to prove the contradictions. I've had enough religious debates to know this!
  • http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7KnGNOiFll4 The is a poem about god, don't worry, its not relious as such.
  • Ahh..., but It's not written for your head...meaning intellect...it’s written for your heart, where truth resides, it will recognize it and your head despite all the logic it may attain, will succumb to your will and "if" you choose to “believe” will turn into Faith. That is why God allowed a “perfect” sacrifice, so you (true you) would have a choice in the matter... In Christ..
  • the idea of god having a son that is also god is pretty silly. actually, the bible in general is pretty ridiculous.
  • i disagree that it's nonsense. could not the Perfect Creator also only have one son, if He so desired? what doesn't make sense in that He loves his creations?
  • A lot of scriptures say Jesus is God come in the flesh...so would it make more sense to think that God took a piece of himself to create Jesus...so really God himself, put a piece of himself on the cross to die for you. ..
  • What's with the constant Christian bashing and Christian "baiting" questions on this site? If You don't believe in it fine, but why ridicule those who believe differently and post bigoted questions in an effort to get a rise out of Christians? It must be a sad existence to have so much hate for others who don't think or act the same way you do that you have to ridicule their beliefs. Sorry for you, but minus four points for your bigoted question.
  • look up the word "begotten." Then get back to me...
  • The term "Perfect Creator" that you used pretty much says it all. Because He is perfect, everything He does is perfect, so why would God having one one begotten Son be anything but perfect? Who are we as imperfect human beings, to say any different?
  • It would make the illusion less believable if he started making a bunch of virgins pregnant with his babies.
  • Wow, you are in a foul mood asking this question. Did the blatant commercialism and greed of this so called "Holiday" spark this question? Jesus was his first creation and Jesus was there when God created everything else. Basically Jesus is his "right hand man". God sacrificed his best.

  • He had all the children he wanted....his son jesus!
  • Wading through religions many (seeming) contradictions can be very confusing and rather frustrating at times but keep digging and the truth usually reveals itself... The very first thing GOD created was Light and this 'first born' of GOD was responsible for the creation of everything else and when things got a bit out of hand over here on Earth he incarnated and appeared as Jesus to sort it out... Its a bit simplistic but it works... :)
  • Pard, you're spot on.Ignore the sputtering - bible thumpers are just wanna-be lawyers
  • "...She moves in mysterious ways..."-U2
  • Could have but didn't.
  • I totally agree. If God was real I would call Him a fool. A perfect God would have thought of a better way to save humanity than to cause His son to suffer a gruesome death.
  • I thought we were all his children. Why is that one guy more or less special and important than me? Or Mark Whalburg for that matter?
  • Why do people like you keep asking such asinine questions all the time showing your total lack of intellectual amplitude or thought that shows with out doubt you have not an inkling of knowledge about!
  • Also, remember the beginning of Job, where it says "The sonS of God gathered, Satan among them".
  • God does have many sons and daughters. All of the men and women who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior are adopted into the family of God and He becomes their heavenly Father. They become heirs with God and joint-heirs with Christ. Everything God and Jesus own, the adopted sons and daughters also own. "Begotten" is pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship. Jesus is Deity and only one of a kind in that regards but all others who are adopted into the family of God are still, nonetheless, sons and daughters.
  • He could have. He could have had millions of beggoton children had his will had been so. However, he chose only one. Who are we, us petty humans, to question his Almighty will?
  • There could be a number of reasons why he chose to do this: 1. So as not to pay arrears on his child support 2. He realized the kids wasn't his 3. He thought he was ugly 4. He was jealous of his own son's good looks and garb for fashion 5. He didn't recognize him and thought he was someone else's kid 6. Infantacide
