Step # 1 : First connect the Modem to the Internet slot on the Linksys router and then connect the computer to the port #1 slot of the Linksys router. Step # 2 :- Resetting the router . a) While the device is 'ON', press the RESET button on the back panel of the device using a pointed object(e.g. Paperclip) and keep it held for about 30/40 seconds. b) You will notice that the power light on the device would start blinking, indicating that it is being reset. c) After 40 seconds release the RESET button and switch 'OFF' By Unplugging the power to the Linksys device and wait for 10 seconds and then switch it back 'ON' d) Let the power light on the device stabilize. To be Done on the computer connected to the router using an Ethernet cable . Step # 3:- Please access the setup page of the router by launching an Internet Explorer and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field empty and provide password as “admin "" all in lower cases and then click on ok. Step 4 : On the 192.168.1.1 set up page of the router , please click on the set up tab . change the Internet connection type to Automatic Configuration DHCP and then the " local ip address 192.168.1.1 ", please changed that to 10.10.10.1 and then hit save settings at the bottom. Once setting's are saved close that page. Step 5 : -Now switch OFF both your modem and the router. Switch ON the modem first and wait for about 40 seconds and only then switch on router. At the end of the step 2 try going online from the wired computer. If you are not able to go online from the wired computer then do step 6:- Step 6 : "Please access the setup page of the router by launching in Internet Explorer and type on the address bar, 10.10.10.1 and press enter. When it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field empty and provide password as “admin "" all in lower cases and then click on ok. On the main setup page select the ""Internet Connection Type"" as ""PPPoE”. - Then provide the username and password provided by your ISP (Internet service provider) for your connection.(Example: abc@sbcgolbal.net) Select the Keep Alive option and choose the redial period as 30 sec" And click on save settings.
