I feel sorry for both of them. Him, for stooping to that level and her for what she's going to end up with.

I am not sure they are forced to travel to get a bride, i think they do it off their own back. Mind you i feel sorry for some of the to be brides thats for sure.

How are they forced to do that? Why do they need those kinds of brides? Yes, if they feel they are forced to do that or to find brides who they can boss around, I feel sorry for them and for the women. They need to become seure enough so that they can find a woman to marry - from any culture - who is secure and mature enough to be an equal partner in marriage.

Interpreting your question generously in a fair and unbiased manner, I would say "NO." I am talking about mature, consenting adults. Would you condemn a woman or couple entry into the US because they were married abroad? It seems like a "WIN-WIN" situation to me as long as all parties are in agreement. (There are exceptions which equal "slavery.") Slavery is unacceptable. Assuming the girl is willing, she is the biggest winner. Otherwise, she would have been a young, economically challenged, submissive bride in some Third World country!

I have been to Cambodia and Thailand and these places are full of slimey western men who went there for love and ended up with children ... or they went to prey on the children from the start of their journey ... I do not feel sorry for older desperate men who are looking for a mail order bride. Reason being, most can't find a woman or young lady in America. A great deal of them are looking for a younger gal, to basically be his slave. The female only does it to get out of her Country and come to America, and will try very hard to become what he wants, but for the most part it doesn't work out and the women are often abused.

I'm from so-called "eastern" Europe. I came to USA first time almost 20 years ago. After 2 months I was ready to go home and as US-Americans say "Go back to your country" so I did! And I enjoyed it very much back home. In 1993-97 I was making more money there than I'm making in 2008 now here in USA. But anywway, 10 years ago I moved my biz to USA, since it needed the market and most customers were from USA anyway. Living in USA for 10 years I've learned that USA is a good country (gold opportunity) for women (both: USA and foreign women), but to men it's a bid of a sad place where you have to masturbate to have sex or have sex with a woman who sleeps with other 5 guys (once a year, if you're lucky). And I also noticed that once foreign women move to USA they become Americanized as well. In USA usually is like this: young girls, young women - hard to get. When they get old and ugly, after 50 they call you. But then it's too late cause she wasn't with you for 30 years of her life or so. When they get sick they call you, Before that you feel like a monster, minority, no rights, a total loser. I'm a good looking man, tall, had lots of girlfriends in Europe including western Europe, also Asia, but once you go to Anglo culture countries like USA, Canada, UK, Australia, forget about decent women. It's not about being submissive. They're just monsters, princess syndrome. I'm praying for the day when my business will be moving back to Europe. I PRAY HARD! Women are very fast to quit men. No value, no respect to the man in USA. Perhaps they hate foreign men? I've noticed that 95% of women once I say I'm foreign they quit immediately and 99% of black women quit after finding out I was white(y). I'm not racist at all, but this country really does have a problem with race and with women. Hey all American men, I'm really really sorry for you all, especially for those who were not born in USA but who do happen unfortunately to live here. Regarding my love and sex life, I did not stay absent completely. I flew several times to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco to date, also I dated Japanese women in Japan. I totally gave up onb US women and when I walk with an Asian women in USA I see the anger in white women's faces. Last American woman I met was quite attractive by face, but when I met her she was hugely fat and not so attractive (older?) and unhealthy looking yet she was so picky she left me after 10 minutes of "dating" right after she heard my accent, which is rather British than American. If the men were realistic and tried to attract a woman their own age, their own "stats" etc, they wouldn't have to seek a bride from overseas. Have you ever actually read the ads? They never ask for a woman in her 30's or 50's. They always seek very young women - girls even - who are height and weight proportionate and they never ask about education or personal interests. They seek these brides out because they want something they can't get in the U.S. and they get it because they have the commodity of citizenship and financial support to offer in trade. No, I don't feel sorry for them.

Why should I feel sorry for them? I'm an American currently residing in Poland. I wouldn't mind having a European chick for a girlfriend, and possibly wife. The princess type can be found everywhere. I don't know what country you're from, but I see the same type of hoochies here in Poland as I do back home in the States. As a matter of fact, I prefer my women to European women; you just can't go wrong in America, you get the best of the world, so many ethnicities, and combinations (African-American + Italian heritage my fav: Alicia Keys for example). All you see is borders drawn by political maps, we're all the same, and we're all part of one race, the human race, regardless of nationality and skin color.

I haven't met any American men "forced" to find young, poor, submissive brides overseas. I have met American men who "chose" to go overseas because they couldn't find their ideal mate over here. And no, I don't feel sorry for them. Yes, it's true, there aren't that many beautiful, young, poor, submissive women over here that have to put up with the "I'm so good looking, rich, nice and old" type guys -- and that's a good thing!

This is kind of a disingenous question. Sure, for some men it is to find submissive brides. It's not something I plan on doing. However, from what I've heard from and about men who dated or married foreign women is that they are ACCEPTED by foreign women, even ones that had already immigrated to the West and were doing fine on their own. Take it from me, dating really sucks. I'm Canadian, and let me tell you, Canadian women are fussy. I've dated women from the U.S. and U.K. as well, but they were pretty cool for the most part, especially the Brits. But here in Canada, being a decent guy who treats a women with respect often isn't enough. You've got to have a prestigious job, large income and all that goes with it to even get a DATE. And don't be too unique.... they hate that. Many are largely looking for a status symbol and a Gold Card. Now maybe I'm just meeting the wrong women. But if my experience is anything to use as a template, then it's no wonder men sometimes look for foreign brides. Dating can be a real minefield, and I can see why some men decide to take the quest elsewhere.

In GENERAL, American women no longer provide the same degree of support, acknowledgment and acceptance that men require, while many women in foreign countries have a tendency to give more in the line of what allows a man to feel less stress, feel more valued and happy. This is by no means an issue of equality, etc. It is more related to American women demanding all the trappings of equality, while still desiring the traditional perks and allowances of the past...
