Sure I'd raise preflop. How much is the question; you don't want to drive too many people off (tho I once raised to 12 on a $2 blind and got 7 calls). If nothing comes on the flop and the board's not paired or running, I'll bet big and try to drive people off.

Always raise pre-flop, to the amount you usually raise to when raising pre-flop. As for after the flop, well that depends too much on board textures, opponent betting action and their styles to give an answer. On most boards however, your hand will still be ahead after the flop so lean towards building the pot unless there is compelling reason not to.
