  • Yes I do...though there is no need to since I live only a couple of blocks from a grain mill. If they would just go over there they could have all the mice and rats they would want to eat. Bu yes, if they come to my yard I feed them.
  • No, not unless you want a cat perminently. I have seen a feral cat leap out of the high grass and catch a low flying bird so they will survive by regressing to their natural instincts.
  • I do feed feral cats. I feed them so they will not feed on the birds, plus I don't want them to starve. It is sub zero here, and finding food is tough. I've been feeding the same mom for about 3 years. I trap her kittens and hand them over to PAWS. Just because some butthead put the cat out to the curb doesn't mean it should have food. The feral mom cat has been a feral to long to trap, PAWS would just put her down. I was happy to see the kitten made it through the -30 night. whew.
  • No but I "allow" the neighborhood cats to use my garden as their litter box.
  • I do and I've had whole families of cats come into my garden for food. Especially at this time of year, they need a little extra care.
  • All the time when i see one! as stray cats got to eat 2.
  • I have in the past but we don't have any here. So I feed the wild critters as I can.
  • When we lived where we saw them, yes, we did. But now money is so tight we cannot. So we just bless that we rescued the one we did, and know we will rescue more in the future.
  • Yes, I do feed them. They can't do for themselves.
  • NO,I trap them and have them put down! Out where I am,we want the ground nesting birds to live, not the stray cats.We DON'T kill them here,we trap them in a humane cage, transfer them to a local vet,and that's that!
  • I don't feed them but have several cats & a stray dog that drinks out of my fountain. When the fountain was iced over last week I saw a dog feverishly licking the ice, I took a pitcher of water out their to pour over the ice & it scared off the dog.
  • Absolutely I do feed ferals. I am unemployed and have no income. And thanks to disillusioned human beings, there are an overwhelming number of starving ferals out there, and now more than ever before in history! They're not hunting for food when they jump up and catch a bird....that would be regressing within evolution, and regression is not the way of evolving! It was more than likely intrigued by the movement of the bird and not at all 'hunting'....it was the offspring of domestics, and has evolved accordingly. Be assured!! What are ferals? They're the offspring of domestic cats....and basically,'throw away' kittens that have been thrown out to vie for themselves despite the fact that they do not have the skills to do so! (They've been bred-out for centuries.) ONe scenario would be that an unspayed kitty had babies, babies got to be about 5 or 6 wks old, and then the kid's Mom tells the kids "take them to WalMart and give them away, and do not come home with any of them!" So, kids give away what they can (a whole 'nother subject), and what the kids cannot giveaway, they dump behind WalMart, and go home with no kitties like Mom said, and get a pat on the head!! WHO adopted those free babies at walmart? The ones that advertise a few months later that they are moving and need to find a home for these sweet innocent unneutered babies, since there were no stipulations as far as spay/neutering when they were given away. So when her term at the college ends, she can't find a home for the baby, so she lets this little unneutered guy go along the river. And the terrible cycle continues.(Basically, "I am 18 yrs old, and this kitten fulfilled my immediate needs, but now I am moving to a place that will not accept pets, and I am seeking a home for it [unspoken: I'm bored with it and did not get it spayed/neutered, because that was something my parents always took care of, and I am used to having my way, so, I'm not taking this THING with me, because I have a boyfriend now, and he told me to get rid of the cat!] And the ones that got dumped behind WalMart? Breeding like rabbits, starving to death, riddled with disease and infections, and eating any garbage they can find because they know only one thing....and that is to survive!! Surviving is their only focus!! This situation with cats is one of the most painful situations I can think of...these little innocent critters that have no idea how to survive when they've been thrown away! They're now feral and making feral babies!! (One fertile male and one fertile female can expotentially produce over 600,000 babies in 7 years!! and they do!) And the tiring cycle repeats over and over and over.... Someone posted this: "I have seen a feral cat leap out of the high grass and catch a low flying bird so they will survive by regressing to their natural instincts." This is so wrong! Since ferals are offspring of domestic cats, the fine-tuned survival instincts were bred out long ago, and the 'hunting' part just isn't there anymore, as the domestic housecat has evolved into just that.....a domestic housecat! The "free to good home" kitties have had to develop their own survival skills when they're 'kicked to the curb'. We've got a huge problem here! What are these throw-away kitties supposed to eat?? If 2 fertile cats can exponentially produce over 600,000 cats, what do they eat during the winter? Where are they supposed to hang out during the winter? Go ahead and convince yourself that grabbing a bird 'mid air' is surviving. Nevermind that the bird may well have had a nest it was tending!!
