good professional music and excellent lyrics still valid today 25 years on . that is good stuff

They have a lot of depth for a rock band. That's one reason anyway.

The floyd stand out from all the rest by way of their conceptual albums. No one wrote songs as amazing as they did. Case in point "The Great Gig in the Sky". it's one of those songs where no words are spoken, it's only emotitve screams. They will always be my number 1 band of all time.

The sound,the concept,the lyrics. Each so individualistic.Within the first notes of a song you mind says "FLOYD"
