Does anyone remember the old NES game, Blue Marlin? If so is there any way to catch a whale?

Hmm... I recall playing that game briefly and I don't remember anything about a whale. Looking at a pretty trusty reference, www.gamefaqs.com, I can't find any information about being able to catch a whale. I've beaten the game recently. I don't believe you can catch a whale and the whale can destroy your boat... but if you troll your line in the wake of a whale you'll catch some great fish usually!
