put a 3 to 2 prong adapter on the business end of the electrical plug, but I would not recomend pluging that solution right into the wall, get a APC UPS or a good monster cable surge protecter so you don't burn your house down. Worked for me. I must credit another post for this solution.

I am having a problem. When I play my music (mp3's) that I copied to my ps3 from my ipod, most of the music is very badly distorted and full of static. Movies and games sound fine, but the music sounds terrible from just the t.v. and,or the surround sound. I copied all of my music with the same bitrate. (standard) However, not all of the music sounds bad, just most. I have tried playing the music directly on the ipod through the ps and still same thing. The music on my ipod sounds fine in my car, or on the radio with the transmitter my girlfriend bought me for xmas, it sounds excellent. I don't get it... So finally I thought, o.k. well try a real cd from the manufacturer (non-burnt) and still, no dice. The fact that my movies and games sound fine have me just stumped. Sorry for all the reading, but if anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike P.S. does anyone know if there will be any games that allow you to listed to the music that you have on file during gameplay like the xbox??? I assume so, but have heard nothing of it.

I get this too through my receiver, but the solution was fairly simple: unplug the cable line going into your TV. As Kane454 mentioned, throwing an adapter onto your plug also fixes the issue (it's actually a ground loop, caused by interference from the PS3 being on the same circuit as your TV). By unplugging your cable wire, you'll not only (hopefully) kill the buzzing, but if you have any weird dark/light lines that slowly crawl up the screen (also part of the ground loop issue), they'll go away. Annoying that you have to do it, I know, but hopefully it'll fix things quickly and for free. As for PacsAngel, try hitting the Triangle Button when you're listening to your MP3s and making sure the Volume option (it should be on the far left) isn't turned up. I accidentally cranked mine up and it sounded like I'd blown my speakers. Putting it back down to normal levels fixed everything right up!

is unplugging the cable line permanent solution to this problem, coz it would really be a hassle to keep removing and putting the wire back again everytime?
