centsless had a decent link. Portforward.com actually has the info for each router type though. I'd go there and take a look so you can be doing it with info specific to at least your brand of router, if not the actual one itself. http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

There should be a section for port forwarding somewhere. When you get to it, there should be a table, with lots of text boxes and drop down menus. Firstly, you'll need to know the port that you need to forward. Type that into the port box, and make sure you have it set to forward through TCP and UDP (you may need to make 2 entries to do that). Then just name them so you know what they are and click apply.
