Why does U always come after Q?

    U does not always come after Q. In playing scrabble on the computer I found several words that start with and don't have a U in them the only one that comes to mind at the momment is Qat.

    i play scrabble also, and i know you can use qat, and also qi, but in most words there is always a u after q why,
