Help answer this question below.
I think with most jobs it is against company policy to tell anyone how much you make...so just plead the 5th
you don't have to tell them...and if they find out somehow and are jealous, tell to work harder so they can get the same raise...you earned your raise don't feel guilty about it
Keep quiet, if you are doing the work and your boss thinks you are worth it, then you deserve it.
Mums the word
It really is None of their business and feel free to tell them that. How will they find out? You shouldn't worry about it. you earned it and don't be ashamed of that. Just don't talk about it. I learned that salary is one thing that you never mention and then there is no problem.. avoid it like you do religion and politics
Don't say a word to anyone. It's really none of their business how much you make.
Congratulations on your pay raise by the way.
Keep it secret.
Not tell them perhaps.
Keep your mouth shut. Congratulations. And don't forget, maybe everyone else got $500.
Wow! $300 bucks, nice! Congrats!
A word to the wise, I wouldn't tell the others, keep it to yourself, they have no other way of finding out unless you tell them. Although, I once had a similar situation & the wenches in the office went thru my desk, saw what I was making & they made such a racket that they caused me my job. What nobody took into consideration was the fact that I had twice the experience and the education they had but it didn't matter, malice, jealousy and envy have no boundaries
It is no one elses business, keep it on the DL
Don't tell anyone...ever.
Zowie, congratulations! Good answers above about not sharing the info. Something I wouldn't have thought about before a couple of years ago, but the company I used to work for actually had in the personnel policies that it was forbidden to divulge your salary - a guy actually got fired for that. Protect yourself for that reason alone, but besides that, just smile and politely tell them that you're not comfy sharing that info.
mums the word when it comes to discussing your's or anyone else's income in the job place/complete no no!
If you dont tell anyone, then no one will ever know. Dont leave your pay stubs lying around either...
Keep on doing what you do----> GOOD WORK, the rest will work it's way out, remember it's not embarrassing to be successful!
Don't tell them. Most company policies state that salaries should not be discussed with each other. Usually people get a raise because they deserve it, like good performance. Just keep being a good employee.
Don't encourage them to browse AB. ;)
"There's nothing more annoying than a good example"- Mark Twain
Don't tell them
Have the money direct deposited and don't tell the others. It's none of their business...
Do what everyone else says - don't divulge it - then you have no worries.
Just keep the news to yourself, don't tell even your closest friend at work, because when it comes to raises, there will always be jealousy. Much as you may be tempted to mention it at times, don't.
Keep your mouth shut about it. Who needs to know? If asked, say- "I'm grateful for all the nickels thrown my way"
dont tell any one
Salaries should be a private issue. It's none of their business what you make, so don't make it their business. Just keep quiet, and if asked just tell them politely that you don't discuss your pay with co-workers.
just be yourself, act the same as you always have done, its their problem, not yours - youve obviously deserved a pay-rise - keep up the good work!!
Don't tell them. First, why is it any of their business? Second..did you walk on anyone, betray anyway, tell lies about anyone? If you simply did your work to the best of your ability, how is that a bad thing? I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you did something to get the raise that you aren't proud of, forget it and continue on. Congratulations on the raise! Happy Tuesday! :)
Don't tell them. +4
Don't tell anyone. It is none of their business what you make.
Keep it to yourself, you obviously deserve it! Congrats :-)
Keep your mouth shut and deposit the extra cash in your savings account.
Some co workers are like that, even they don't work hard also they don't let others to work hard too. But when it comes on salary day, some of them check others pay check that how much they got then comments on that. Some will even don't work harder then others but they still getting more money then the people who worked harder. It makes some people to get jealous and mad too. It happened to me in many work places. I worked harder then the lazy people(who comes to work place for chat and do slut bitches job with bosess or managers, that's the way they get permnent jobs in everywhere, some think that if some do slut job every women or men are like that too, that's the why I lost my many jobs because of these types of bitches(every where), that's why they getting more money then the hard worker). Till they find out your salary don't talk with any mean and jealous people. Don't worry about them, whatever they say let them say "boneless tounge turns any ways", just focous on your hard work. whatever you did hard work, you got good award from that keep it up. god is with you and bless for your hard work and keep working.
Congo Ratz man but everyone says to keep it to your self but if u want another answer then tell them all and rub it in there face be proud of what you have accomplished and who cares if the get that way they should be happy for you and work harder so they can get one to
As has already been said, say nothing if you feel your good fortune will upset others in your work place, just feel inwardly proud that this is a reflection on your character and abilities to do your job, set standards and maintain them, just don't let it go to your head, I've seen some people I've worked with in the past become way up themselves thinking they a better than everyone else and flaunting their pay increase, this is just lighting the touch paper to a huge firework, pretty soon they had everyone’s attention, just be yourself and keep that inner smile, well done by the way….
Don't tell anyone.
I had this same situation with Home Depot.
I had much experience in selling carpet, than most other employees in that department.
I was given a nice raise on the QT.
No one knew about it, at least i thought that.
Two weeks later, several other employees advised the supervisor that they would quit, if their salaries were not increased to mine.
I felt this was a problem for the supervisor to solve.
He solved it allright. he lowered my salary to the original beginning.
What did i do?
I quit.
What you earn is none of anyone else's business. If you don't tell them, they would have no reason to know.
Hey, didn't someone tell you that you were "worthless" at your job recently? I guess they were wrong. You must have earned the extra pay due to merit. Keep your raise to yourself and it should not be an issue. If someone in HR or Payroll spreads it around, they are very unprofessional.
I would be happy for the raise and keep it to myself that I got what I deserved for my hard work and not let anyone know about it because there is someone that will be after your job and do all they can to get what you have, this is from personal experience and trust me it hurts specially if you worked hard to get where you are and it gets taken away because of lies and deceit!!! A tight lip is what I would suggest, brag about it to your family or friends outside the job and celebrate with them and enjoy, jobs are hard to find, much less get that good of a raise and congradulations!!!!
don't tell them. i don't discuss my pay with my coworkers for that reason. and, your boss will probably appreciate you not telling the others, because if you do tell your coworkers about your raise, your boss will have to deal with the jealousy, too (your jealous coworkers' morale will get low, they'll ask your boss for a raise, or they'll leave the company).
Just keep your mouth shut. If anyone asks... lie, lie, lie. If you're like me you hate lying. It's nothing I'm comfortable doing but it's truely none of their business.
That's why one shouldn't talk about how much money they make.If anyone questions you, just tell them (with a smile)that you don't talk about money. If they persist, ask them why they want to know.If they still have the nerve to bug you, tell them that it's none of their business(with a smirk, lol!)and walk away.
The best way to keep a secret is to not tell anyone. Thats your business and your business alone. Never discuss pay with anyone. Thats the golden rule.
Everyone that said "don't tell them" is absolutlely right. Also just keep in mind, you likely didn't take that job to appease the people that work there. You got the job because it fit you and it pays the bill...obviously you are good at it because you just got that raise. Enjoy your success and don't make a scene
it might be that you finally make what they are being paid
First of all Congratulations! That show's that your doing a Great job and you appreciated.
Second, keep it to yourself. It's no one's business how much you make. Rule of thumb in any business is don't share how much you make it only causes hard feelings and jealousy.
How would they know?
Don't tell them.
Why would you say anything to anyone? And there shouldn't be any way for them to find out either.
I got a promotion a few months ago but no one except my manager and the management chain knows about it. And it is fine that way.
Never discuss salaries amounts with co-workers, that's how coups start! :D

You're reading I just found out that I got a significant raise at work- about 300 dollars more a month. I am worried about the other's getting jealous if they find out. What should I do?

I was just about to mention company policy until I read this, this is true. And your concern is the reason for the policies like this.
