  • I should not matter and actually makes things worse if they appear to be associated with any religion. They should be atheist and not aligned with any church for being a churchgoer does not give one any more morals than anyone else, nor has any effect on how they perform as president.
  • Where I live and the people I know wouldn't give a crap one way or the other. They could be Rastafarian for all I care. God bless America!!!! Bull!
  • I get the feeling that most Christians realize that they are part of the overwhelming majority in the US, and they feel that means someone from their camp should represent the country. And at first glance, this almost makes a little bit of sense. However, being the president is not a position in the church, it's a public position, and in the US, a person's religion has absolutely no effect on their ability to act in a position of political power. So, it's really not important, people just make it important for themselves.
  • It is not necessary that the president be a Christian.
  • No disrespect intended to any person professing the Christian religion, but Christianity, like any other religion, doesn't have an ownership on morality and righteousness--history tells us that. It is not his religion--whatever that may be--or the lack thereof that will qualify him to do an effective job as president. To the same degree, if he fails, his religion of choice will have no bearing on it.
