127 or less. If your access point is also a router, it is set up as a Local Area Network and will be using an internal set of IP addresses. For example my wireless router uses 192.168.2.x (the first two numbers are always 192.168 as this signifies a LAN to the rest of the world) where x is a number between 0 and 127. The router itself will take one address and so you are left with 127 left. If your access point is not a router then it will be assigned IP addresses by the actual router in which case your 127 addresses may be shared with other access points connected to the same router. If your access point is connected straight to your modem then you will be assigned IP addresses by your ISP and they usually have a 2 to 5 address limit (depending on your ISP) and will start charging you extra once you go over your limit. For example, my ISP allows two IP addresses and it costs $10 a month for each additional IP address I use. BTW, if you don't have a router with a built-in firewall (either in your access point or separately), get one! Hope this helps.
