Tough question. I'm wondering what age group? I would say the most important thing that children in American should be taught is the importance of the family unit.

Self defense. Sad, but it's getting rougher for kids with each passing year..in school, and out. More freaks around than ever..kids gotta know how to protect themselves. :)

First thing that popped in my mind was a strong sense of morality, I can't stand it when people are to caught up in their own little world to pass up of thers in serious need. A couple of years ago there was a woman in a serious automobile accident where her car flipped and was ignited. Nobody dared to help or even call 911 whilst this mother and her child burned alive. Similar incidents happen a lot, not limited to auto accidents either :(

To use things and love people instead of the other way round- Now children feel that their worth is attached to material things and their moral value is attach to what they feel good about without thinking about future consequences- pleasure, instant gratification and lack of respect for others' welfare or lack of self control- is increasingly seen in our youths today. So they strive to be top-of the top, most popular and not caring unless it concerns the welfare of their own.There's very very little- inner kindness, patience or tolerance (swearing-cursing-vandalism_in our youths of today- Casual Sex with multiply partners and violence, drugs, money, fame and power tops in their list.And they are just following what most of the adults are doing after all...true or false?
