  • I don't think it's bad... people can always go back and edit their answers, too, if they feel the need.
  • I think its a bad idea, you shouldnt be able to post a question and then go back and revise it after people have answered. It should be ok if you haven't gotten an answer yet.
  • Not at all. This has happened a few times and is really frustrating. As of now, anyone can edit their question for up to 5 minutes after it was first posted, whether or not it has already received answers. But AB is an evolving site, and Joel and the rest are very much aware and on top of things that go on here. If it proves to be something that gets abused or receives a number of complaints, it will probably get changed in some way.
  • I think being able to change it in the first 5 minutes is a good idea, I would get so annoyed if I couldn't go back and correct a spelling mistake that I only noticed once I had posted the question. If you rush in to answer within that 5 minute period then you run a slight risk of having the question changed by a mischievous questioner so that you look stupid, but you can always prevent that by waiting 5 minutes before you reply if it is really bothering you. But making questions totally unable to be edited would be a bad move and would probably lead to more bad questions being posted on the site.
