Recently downloaded update to my system and lost sound is there a patch or download i can get to fix it?

What update exactly? You could try reinstalling your sound driver, from the manufacturer disc if you have it, or preferentially, from the manufacturer's website to get the latest version of the driver.

start>control panel>system>hardware>device manager> look for yellow? if there is one under audio then the driver is missing and needs to be reinstalled this program usually finds then and downloads all updates and then you choose install. NEED TO FIND YOUR DRIVERS?
