Stop partying so much and study more.

Anything but the latter, dude! Until you get it all 'figured out', understand that the 1st year is by far the worst for most. Try what I did in the same situation in 1974 = stop smoking dope for a coupla' months and redouble your efforts! When you finally make the "Dean's List", buy a new bong! Enjoy, man - the (potentially) best years of your life!!! ;-)

Your college should have a counseling office as well as an academic advisor. Speak to both and get some specific advice about your options. You should try to rescue what you can of the semester but you DO need to change your habits. Perhaps you can drop the two courses that you're doing worst in a and work like crazy on the other two. Salvaging half the courses is better than none.

Well that happens alot. Dont party So much, retake those classes. You do not want to start out on probation so early in your college life. Learn from your mistakes and spend more time working on your studies.

Been there with you, but mine was in 1966-67. Ended up flunking out at the end of freshman year. I didn't know how to study, liked to party, just wasn't ready to grow up and apply myself. I enrolled in a smaller college with less distractions. Asked for help from instructors, did the extra credit assignments, joined studdy groups, read assignments. Finally got my grade point average up to a 2.9 just in time to be drafted into the military. Viet Nam was a real motivator, came back and finished my degree. So the answer to your question is: Do anything and everything that it takes to stay in school, fight hard to get your degree, and never ever give up. Good luck, we're all behind you.
