Honestly, even though it is not anything to actually fear, I was awaken the other night by two cats fighting in the front yard and it sounded like demons coming to take over the earth! That sound is awful especially to be coming out of a deep sleep to hear.

Not sure if it's the scariest sound but I have been surrounded by a pack of wolfs and when they began to howl it really did make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. No audio recording can quite capture what they really sound like at that distance.

For me that would have to be the engine in the Jeep I was driving blowing up. I was going 65 mph on Interstate 75 in Florence, Ky when it blew causing flames to shoot over the hood and melt the windshield to nothing. I must have had an angel on standby that day.

Resident Evil 4. This thing called a Regenerator. A big alien monstery thing that is insanely hard to kill because it regenerates limbs and such. Its breathing is the most frightening sound I know of.
