Anonymous coward comes to mind. Blow hard know-it-all is another thought. It's the same way I feel when I see an anonymous question or an anonymous DR.

I can't understand it either i stay away now as i've found that the odd (and i stress the odd!! )one has turned out to be most offensive. but it tars and mars all so catch 22 i do feel that the anonymous facility should be removed that way it might make people think before being nasty, hurtful, spiteful, and offensive.

I can understand when people first start but it is very difficult to build friendships or relationships when there are so many Anons. Of course everyone has a right to remain Anonymous if they choose, I just feel it is a pity that they do not wish to join in the community more.

I just changed my user name to that, or something like it.

Speaking as an Anonymous type, honestly why would it matter, TRULY matter if your recieving an answer from a person named "Anonymous" verses old "Fred?" People speak of downrates as if only Anonymous are responsible. There is quite abit of named ABers, who do a just as much as us nameless Anonymous. Can I see some AB DATA where the amount of negatives from Anonymous types rates higher than named ABers? Not all Anonymous's are bad abers.

Laziness. It takes what 30 seconds to come up with a name. I will NOT accept friends with the name anonymous. Most anonymous are automatically thought to be trolls and troublemakers (they sign up day 1, to spam and troll and leave rude comments and answers) then they disappear.. and sign up another anon account to do the same thing. I am very cautious as are other ABers about answering anon. questions because they don't usually stay around long enough to even read the answers or rate them or leave comments. MOst don't really want to get involved..if they did, they would spend 30 seconds to find a name of something.

shield-plain and simple, they prefer to hide behind it. makes them feel safe just like the word says "anonymous" and thats OK there our those that walk to the beat of a different drummer! and thats what makes the old world go around.....
