  • When you're young.
  • I'll teach you some French :)
  • Immersion. You learn things fast when your survival depends upon it. The ideal is to move to a French speaking country and ONLY speak the language. Second best is to choose a class that requires only French be spoken in the classroom. Find a buddy who will only speak French to you. You will learn to communicate quickly if speaking French is the only way to do it. (ps-there are also lots of programs you can purchase to teach you, but I think the methods above are more fun)
  • Immersion... To completely forget your native language and learn the new one, as a child would, in reference to absolutely nothing else starting from the ABC's and 1 2 3's. That is how I have taught myself every language I know. It becomes complicated when you put time frames on your learning process based on the words in reference to your native language. Learn everything as if you are learning it for the very first time.
  • French? I have no idea, but having visited France a few times, I get the impression the language would be MUCH easier if you eliminate half the consonants, since they don't pronounce half them anyway.
