An MRI is basically a big magnet, perhaps those things sometimes cause problems? If there's anything metallic in them that the magnet would attract, they'd leap off your body and get stuck to the machine basically.

Some brands of makeup contain metal and would interfere with the scan especially if you are having a brain scan. Likewise hair products or deodorant will also interfere with the scan and could also have metal in them.
