Im a 19 year old student, I have started to wear a suit casually for things like going out into the city / Clubs / Bars. I have been told by my friends that i look good in it, yet I get strange looks from people in town, do you think im 'over dressing'?

I think you are dressing just fine. I always say that you can rarerly be overdressed but you can definately be underdressed. The other thing that is important is that at your age you need to dress for your success and for what you want to be. I wouldn't worry about the looks...they are just jealous!

It's hard to overdress. Going to a meeting with a tux, yea. Going to the beach in suit? Definitely. But for what you're doing, it's not overdressed. Go for it, don't let strangers define your style.

Wearing a suit is not something to be ashamed of. It's a great look! That is why people wear one for occasions when they want to impress. By the way, do you think the same people who give you strange looks for dressing the way you want would ask your permission to dress the way they want to? So, why should you ask theirs? Or consider their opinion? You're wearing the suit, they're not! Wear it if it makes you happy.
