I don't get kittens because they are too wild for me. You just have to wait for the kitty to outgrow this habit of screen climbing. I would suggest a spritz of water from a spray bottle.

I was very shocked to see my Siamese jump on the hood of the aquarium yesterday, I think she lost her mind and didn't realize I was home.

My cat used to climb my curtains and sit on the curtain rod and cry until I came and got her down. She got declawed pretty quickly.

I have heard that the decompressed air and water bottles work well though, if declawing isn't the route you want to take.

Try having a squirt bottle handy and when they start to climb give them a squirt. They dont really like that. ALso get a scratch post so they can climb on that.

There is no way getting around it - cats NEED to scratch. You should probably get a cat scratch post, and spray it with catmint spray (many cats are attracted to catmint).

Also, try spray your fly screens with 'Bitter Apple Spray' - it is a bitter spray that cats and dogs dislike, and is sure to keep them cautious of the fly screen.

I sincerely you hope you do not venture down the route of declawing. It is inhumane and unfair to the cats, in my opinion. Declawing is another way to say "surgically removing part of the cats toes". Does that sound like fun?

I hope this helped your problem ;)
