I have not heard this myth. I have looked for evidence connecting sexual orientation with the choice of whether or not to get a piercing and where, but have not found any such link. I also have not found any evidence suggesting that a hole in ear cartilage results in a change in sexual orientation. If anything, it is one of the baseless urban legends people come up with to amuse themselves.

I have heard this myth but i have heard that no matter the sex you are if you get your ear pierced on the lobe on the left side only you are gay. But that is just a childish rumor.

that is so laim ! where are you getting your info?that is so not true.i have piercings all over and im not any weirder than,well maybe a little weird.tattoos, pircings of any kind do not determine your sexual orientation,nor do they suggest to anyone that you fly one way or the other.little story real quick, when i got my first tattoo my mom said i was white trash,doesnt meen that i am just one persons oppinion.

In the eighties, if a guys left ear was pierced it meant he was homosexual. In these days of enlightenment, i think this no longer applies, adorn your body with jewellery as you like!

Actually you guys have right and left confused. The peircing debate dates to the BDSM community in which things on the left (piercings, tattoo's wrist cuff) meant to be the dominant role, in the case of male 2 male relationships, this means the "Top" If you look at how a person couple stands during the marriage ceremony, with the Man on the left, and the woman on the right (When you are the preacher looking at them) As well as when they turn around to walk out of the church. As such, To have your right ear pierced means you are the submissive, aka. Gay. Most guys I know have both ears pierced anyway, So this whole discussion from the 80's is a moot point. The origan of male ear piercing means he was a slave set free also.

That is complete bulls**t!!! I got the industrial, which consists of two separate piercings on one ear, in the ear cartilage, with a bar going through it. I am absolutely not a lesbian, this is completely untrue. I've never heard this before, and it isn't true with me!!
