No, I don't think so. I've seen many spirited debates and frank opinions recently (some educated, some not), specially during the U.S. Presidential election process, to name an example. For me, there's nothing wrong about being open and clear in one's opinions as long as it's done in a civil manner.

are you kidding? the questions are crude the answers are rude, i don't think anyone is inhibited in the least!

I am careful about what I ask. I seems that many responed negative toward every time I asked about Obama. The points went up and down for months. It was crszy.

People here are so afraid of stepping on toes and/or embarrassed? No! I have seen people here saying lots of 4-letter-words as if the world would end tomorrow. I have also seen people talking about their divorce. Stepping on toes? Embarrassed? Those are the last things many ABers are concerned about. Personally I'm not that open not because I'm afraid of stepping on toes, but because someone has stalked me in the past and posted snarky comments under my answers.

It has been this way for quite some time and it is getting worse.

None that I have seen. Somedays, I wish more were, LOL.

You've never seen a one of my answers have ya? :P

I feel a little that way except on politics and homophobic slants. Part of the reason isn't AB for me it's the fact that everything on here is posted to the web, and I am a little concerned about too much of my personal info being out there. Good question. Thanks

Nope. At least, not for me. I'll try not to step on toes out of politeness, but if someone stickes them out there...well, sometimes it's just gotta be done! But really, the most important thing is for people to ASK the questions they really want answers to. So if you don't like an answer or comment, or it's not helpful, then ASK for clarification or the reasoning behind it instead of getting all bent out of shape over what usually amounts to nothing. As for being embarrassed...so what? How many people here REALLY know who you are? With that in mind, why be embarrassed?

I feel this way about most answers I provide, most don't want to hear the truth, but the down the middle nonbiased, textbook, politically correct answer...whats the point?
