I always thought so until I tried to help her make biscuits and gravy last summer. I had just learned a new recipe from my best friend who married a southern man. I was sooo mad at my mom for not allowing me to help and insisting that her methods for the dish could not be topped.(My husband would say her b&g is completely average) She does not know what she is missing! I guess mom's cooking can't be topped 90% of the time and the rest of the time come on over to my house.
