Depends on your jurisdiction. You need to speak to a duty counsel (free legal advice) to ascertain if this is possible. Argue it down as much as you can - reckless is huge and can follow you for years on your driving record. Sounds like you got hit with a criminal code charge and not a highway traffic act charge....that is doubly serious. Get a lawyer.

Reckless driving use to be a traffic citation offense, but not any more. Reckless driving is now handled in criminal courts throughout the country. You will need an attorney. this will cost you. The last case i had for reckless driving, cost the driver $1,200.00 and a years probation on a restricted drivers license. Since this is your first offense, it may be different for you. In any event, hire an attorney.
