Someone's going to say that life's all about asking the right questions. In fact, if HasntBeen notices your query, I'm sure he'll respond with something like that. However, that's totally wrong. Answers are a synthesis of creativity, experience, and rhetoric. A good answer will be concise and easy to understand, yet deep and thought-provoking. The most helpful answers are those that inspire the most follow-up questions. An answer is one's opportunity to blossom. Look at the wisest users' profiles. Why are there so few questions? Because answers are where it's at, yo. Questions do seem to get more points, though.

I have seen good questions that create an interest in almost everybody receiving over 200 points. However I have managed to reach level 37 in under 2 months mainly by answering questions. When you see the difficulties in the time consuming process of going through all the answers to your question, rating them and posting appropriate comments I would say time taken in notching up points will be the same in both. So ask questions when you have a good one and keep answering all you think are worth answering. In my humble opinion the two should not be compared with a view to the points received.

Forget the points and they will come with really great q and a, make sure you acknowledge anyone who has answered if you want to build good relationships, i generally only ask an occasional question, but each to their own;0)
