Who doesn't know a few guys who try and talk like women. I think most men think talking like women is funny because we are so overdramatic when we talk. I understand how he can be jokin about that. Things that may have happened in childhood that can have this result would be; high estrogen levels, parental encouragement of femanine behavior, overprotective mother, etc. If it is nothing from childhood...you need to pay more attention. How often does he do this? Does it cause sexual arousal? Have him dress up like a girl for you...what effects does it have on his sex drive? If it has no effect on his sex drive i would take it as a joke but keep an eye out for more signs in the future. If dressing like this does cause sexual arousal then he can have a transvestic fetishism. In order to have a paraphilia (sexual d/os that have to do with fantasies), the person only has to have it for at least six months (meaning this won't last long). A transvestic fetishism is when a male gets an intense sexual arousal from crossdressing. I'm not sure about how your boyfriend acts but these type of males may be hostile, self-centered, etc. If you find that this problem didn't start in childhood but is lasting more than six months, I would diagnose him with a gender identity d/o. I think that you need to scope out the situation before making any judgements; i am only giving you the options of what this all could be. If you find that he does get aroused...i think you need to talk to him and maybe get him into some counseling.
