This tell me that Al-Qaida is still a strong working network that is still able to keep up with current news and activities in the world. Which means they are not in hiding and someone is helping them.

Al Qaida did not respond anything, you respond when you are addressed but not out of the blue. Let us call it an unrequested or unprovoked statement. What they have said is ridiculous and all they want is to flame bate us and the site and thus obtain some publicity from the most famous person in the world who is our president elect this for their silly movement if we can call it that. None of the mentioned personalities will answer anything as that is what these terrorists precisely want. This ridiculous statement does not prove anything, they are not a strong working network, they have a contact network called Al Jazeera through which they keep informed and send their unrequested video statements. Yes it means they are being helped but are in hiding in caves and tunnels in the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The best we US citizens can do is to ignore these issues and not even comment them, as believe it or not I am absolutely sure they have some adepts in this site and God knows what they are here for. I don't mean AB I mean certain well known pot steering users.
