Help answer this question below.

I have temporary guardianship of child given to me by the child's grandmother who has custody of child. I want to adopt the child and grandmother agrees.Do parents have any rights? Mom in jail and dad is around but not on birth certificate.

    If you have been awarded temp guardienship by another person who has custody then this means that the parents have no legal rights, they have no say... If you apply to adopt the child all that you have to prove is that you can financially & emotionally deal with the responsabilities that a child bears. However, if the authorities have already entrusted you with care of the child then you should have no problem adopting the child.
