  • You really can't. It is determined by your rank. The higher your rank, the more your vote or points given are worth, both to questions and answers. Once you give them, unless you want to hit negative and take some or all away, you are stuck.
  • You can't change the number of points you give, it is linked to your level. It will only change as you advance higher by giving more answers. If it looked like you gave more points than usual on any occasion then it is probably because somebody else rated the answer at the same time you did, and the webpage updated with both those ratings simultaneously, adding on all the points in one go. This happens quite often.
  • You gave out more before only because you gave out points the same time as someone else and your browser had not updated the score until you rated the question/answer up. :) You have no control of how many points you give out, however if you level-up your ratings have a higher weight.
  • As you level up, the more points you can give, but you max out at 6pts for answers and 5pts for questions.
  • See this page. All sections will have information for you. http://www.orangefrogproductions.com/ofp2m_faq_ab_pnts_lvls_rtgspwr.shtml
  • Wow, elucidate....here's 10 points!
  • Basically, you get points for showing up and typing. You get more points if you have lots of friends and trade points with them, and even more points if you show up for the parties to congratulate others for having more points than they used to have. Then you get points for leaving snarky comments to those who straight-out ask for points, and points for flagging duplicate questions about the points system. Finally, you get points for pointing out spelling errors, pointing people to Wikipedia for information, and pointing out the pointlessness of the point system. I guess that's my point.
