Would a pregnancy test show positive if you're on birth control seeing as your hormone levels are changed by the birth control? Just curious.

Yes the test would show as positive, the oral contraceptive pill does not affect a pregnancy test. Estrogens are elevated in pregnancy and birth control pills also have estrogens, however, estrogen is not the hormone that is measured to determine pregnancy. Pregnancy tests measure the hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG).

My tests always come up positive when I am on birth control....LOL And we thought that we were done with the pregnancy questions...LOL

No. BC pills "trick" your body into thinking it's pregnant, and only when you are truly pregnant will a test pick up the pregnancy hormone and read positive.

yes it will show positive i should know i got pregnant on birth control pills and i got pregnant on the depo shot!! when i got pregnant while on the birth control i took the test and it came up positive.
