Whats the difference between regular spaghetti sauce and marinera sauce?

    By regular, I'm assuming you mean tomato sauce, which is basically just pureed tomatoes with nothing added. Marinara sauce is tomato sauce that usually has something like olive oil, garlic, onions and herbs in it. It definitely depends on who's making the sauce, which cookbook you're looking at, etc.

    The things that you add to plain tomatoes...

    The word for "method" or "way" in Italian is "Maniera."

    it could have been a mispelling of that?

    because a marinera is only the way you prepare the tomatoes?
