As long as you are not a minor, you need to look in the papers for a rental property which you can afford. Then you telephone the landlord, arrange to see the property...and if you like it, you apply for it. Somnetimes that is formal, like filling out a form with your personal information...sometimes it is as informal as just shaking hands, if you both are happy with the place and the arrangement. There is a lot more than that though. You will need electricity, water, telephone, cablevision perhaps....can you afford all that. There is a fee to hook up everything and a monthly fee on top. Most landlords require first and last months rent...
