The simple answer is, you wait until the child is ready to learn it. Two is pretty young. You might investigate potty training children's books at your local library, but in the long run, the child has to be ready and in fact willing, or it just won't happen. Good luck.

use cloth diapers. The child will not be comfortable in a dirty diaper.

Perhaps your two-year old is interested in candy? You can give them a small piece of candy everytime he/she uses the toilet AND washes their hands. My dad nicknamed this 'pee candy.' :-)

You can start with trainer diapers..the pull ups..in case they were to have an accident while learning. The whole "I'm a big kid now" thing seemed to really work..
