I would ask them if it would be ok. At my church it wouldn't be a big deal at all.
-
God said, "Come as you are."
-
I don't think you're supposed to wear jeans to church. Got some black pants of khakis or something?
-
You should dress for the King of Kings.
-
just to be polite you should wear something nicer than jeans just slacks and a nice shirt would be fine
-
You can wear them to my church. The woman who sat next to today wore a nice looking pair of dark blue jeans. She was visiting and not a regular member.
-
Depends upon the church. : )
-
I think it depends on the church. Some specifically reach out to the young and will accept more casual attire. Others generally expect something a bit more formal. I personally think something a little less casual would be a better idea but I wouldn't expect any church to turn you away in jeans
-
Well, I am a guy and would not wear jeans in any church, mine or anyone else's. So, use your best judgement...Just remember,..you are not going to an outdoor concert or picnic. If I were you, I would wear a skirt at least...if not a dress. If you get there and other women your age are wearing jeans, so what? At least you were conservative for the right reasons. I suspect you won't see many, though.
-
You can to my church. Noone would care. It is not a fashion show. I've worn jeans to Bible study.
-
I used to wear jeans to church. People don't really dress up here, aside from the sort of older generation.
-
It really depends on where you are going and the impression or respect you want to show. If you are going for worship in a formal way, it may be best to ask what is appropriate to the area as it might be different in some areas. I always like to think of it as presenting yourself to the highest personage in the universe, like appearing in court or before a President or Mayor in a formal setting, different than worshiping on your own in the privacy of your own home or the outdoors. This is a special place dedicated to the worship of God and I take that seriously.

I'm pretty sure Jesus was a jeans and T-shirt kind of guy.
-
You should dress nicely for church. It's respectful. If you can afford or own better than jeans, then of course you should not wear jeans. It's church, not a barbecue. So many people don't seem to be aware of the proper dress for many occasions. I've noticed it particularly in our courthouse. I think it must be ignorance, but many judges see it as insulting and rude. I think somebody should write a book about proper dress...or put up a website or something.
-
Not knowing the general "feeling" of the church your are visiting, it would be decent to wear something a tad more "dressy", (perhaps a nice blouse and skirt, or dress slacks). But, if you don't have any "dress-up" clothes, (and I don't), wear what you have! My church will take you as you are, as long as it's decent (i.e. "Daisy Dukes", mini-skirts, very hole-y jeans and a tube top, etc., would be pretty rude). Even then, you wouldn't be kicked out, (just asked to please wear something a little more decent next time), LoL!

Jeans anytime.
-
Why not just ask your host what if jeans are cool in that church J?
-
If your not sure what style that church is expecting, then I'd say play it safe and dress up a bit.
-
If it's a Christian church I don't think the J-dog would care. After all, He wandered around in dusty robes and a pair of Jerusalem stompers. But out of courtesy to the "someone else" and the rest of the congregation why don't you simply ask? Then, if a little "sacrifice" on your part is in order...you might even end up in a skirt or suit.
-
Don't tell me that Mr. Condom has invited you to church with him.....
-
I think God is more concerned with what is in your heart and not what is covering your body.
-
On the first occasion dress up a little more - then decide depending upon everyones attire.
-
That's up to you really. Each church is different but in the end they should be happy to have you worship with them no matter what you are wearing.
-
I would not wear jeans to church unless it were a hayride or something. While I love jeans a great deal (and am currently wearing them), it is a bit too casual for church/weddings/funerals. Especially is this true if you are going to be among strangers. :)
-
Wear what comfortable to you.
-
I suppose it depends upon the church. When I used to ride motorcycle with the Christian Motorcyclists Association, I used to wear black jeans, T-shirt and my vest with the CMA colors on the back. Of course I asked first and one of the churches said that it was fine, while another told me that it was ok this time but they expected me to dress as they saw fit from that point on. It's always the best course of action to ask first.
-
Well if it's somebody else's church, stay on the safe side and wear something nicer. It also shows respect to more conservative churches. :)
-
I think it depends on the church. I used to ride with the Christian Motorcyclists Association and a couple of churches I went too had no problem with me wearing jeans and my local CMA chapter colors. Some prefer suits and at least slacks and dress shirt. As long as a person is clean, neat, and a heart for God, I don't think the clothes should make a difference as long as they are within reason.

Jeans have become acceptable attire for church. God does not really care how you dress as long as you are there to worship Him. But for the sake of other worshipers, wear clean clothes and shower (use soap!) and wear soem deodorant and some good smelling cologne- might just find the love of your life there!
-
If in doubt, over-dress a little. It would be less awkward to be slightly overdressed than to be slightly too casual.
-
Actually I feel that if you have been at the church for quite sometime now and you have seen others wearing jeans then it should be just fine. However, if you are a newcomer then I would wear something like a skirt or a comfortable but suitable dress. Now I don't see a problem with a nice pair of slacks, blouse, and nice shoes, or even a nice pant suit.

well put it this way. If God was a living person, and he invited you into his home, what would you wear?
