That's really hard to tell, since so many questions are asked in the wrong category. This would also be something that only the staff can really answer. (They should actually be able to give the numbers with a simple query to the database, but again, only those questions are are IN the category... NOT the ones that SHOULD be there.) ;-)

As this question is asked in the general section of Answerbag, I shall ignore AB4 Adults. This reflects a particular stand of Answerbag, and could change at any time. The answer is: the subcategory "Outside the bag" (without its subcategories). 1) First level categories (without "Adult"): "Answerbag (39117) Arts (21674) Business (20774) Computers (41976) Education (25681) Electronics (25753) Entertainment (88277) Finance (13567) Food & Dining (35303) Games (28746) Health & Fitness (89781) Hobbies (8113) Home & Garden (38093) Kids (20350) Legal (31446) Life & Society (59565) Outside the bag (132842) Places (110511) Real estate (6023) Recreation & Sports (23476) Relationship advice (98477) Science (52319) Social sciences (78991) Transportation (38174) Travel (5629)" Source and further information: http://www.answerbag.com/c_view/1 The biggest first level category is "Outside the bag". We could try to refine the answer, and find the biggest category without counting the questions in its subcategories. 2) Let's try the biggest subcategory, "Outside the bag" (132842) Second level categories inside "Outside the bag": Could you, would you...? (4363) Deep thoughts (19907) First thing that comes to mind (13970) Have you ever...? (5604) Incoming SMS Questions (31) Paradoxes (141) This or that? (6327) Who would win? (1693) Total of the questions in all subcategories of "Outside the bag": 52036 >>> This makes for the category "Outside the bag" without its subcategories: 132842 - 52036 = 80806 Second level categories with more than 80806 questions inside "Outside the bag": none 3) With this really big number for "Outside the bag" without its subcategories (80806), we only need to consider the following first level categories: Entertainment (88277) Health & Fitness (89781) Places (110511) Relationship advice (98477) However: - "Entertainment" contains the big subcategories "Music" (31918) and "Television" (18339), so whether "Entertainment" without its subcategories nor any of Entertainment's subcategories raises the maximum. - "Health & Fitness" contains the big subcategory "Conditions & Procedures" (17176), so we have the same situation as for "Entertainment" - "Places" contains the huge subcategory "North America" (97217), so "Places" does not qualify either, but maybe "North America" could qualify - "North America" contains the huge subcategory "United States" (95806), so "North America" does not qualify either, but maybe "United States" could qualify - "United States" contains the huge subcategory "States" (77927), so "United States" does not qualify either; neither does "States" as it is smaller as our maximum (80806). - "Relationship advice" contains the big subcategories Dating (20038), Love (8596), Breaking up (7523), Friends (5755), Relationship basics (5657), Men & Women (5552) and some more, so that whether "Relationship advice" without its subcategories nor any of "Relationship advice"'s subcategories raises the maximum.

Probably an Answerbag or Outside the Bag subcategory, though I am sure there are some that get a lot of action in Life and Society, too. These big bracket catch-alls house subcategories such as advancing levels, deep thoughts, and relationships. There's a lot of traffic in these!
