Why do some pro-lifers have a problem when a woman ends the life of a foetus, but no problem when (mostly) men end lives in war or through the death penalty?

Maybe it's because Adults have a choice to do those things that may end their lives. The fetus has no choice. I dunno...

Because unborn children are innocent, whereas someone being considered for the death penalty has been convicted of a heinous crime. A better question is actually, why do some "pro-choicers" care more about sick murderers than they do about unborn children?

Your question makes it out to be an issue of gender. For me, a pro-lifer, and I am sure for many, many other pro-lifers, this is not the case.

Is there anything on earth more innocent than a newborn baby? Less deserving of the death penalty? Why, yes, there is; it's an unborn baby, which hasn't even annoyed its mother with the pain of childbirth. And is there anything more guilty than someone who has been through a trial and two or three appeals using every trick his lawyer can come up with, and even a politically motivated governor won't grant him clemency? And is there anything more OBVIOUS than the fact that there is something fundamentally twisted, wrong and perverted about people who see moral equivalency here, between the death penalty for an innocent baby and the execution of a (possibly multiple) murderer? Saddam Hussein should get food, clothing, shelter and medical care for the rest of his life, but a baby should get scissors forced through his skull so his brains can be vacuumed out? The answer to your question is: Because pro-lifers are not morally bankrupt.
