You're reading '91 miata started making "airy" "sucking" sound...loses power. sometimes returns to normal. getting worse w/white smoke at idle. High mi car w/ recent oil stop leak additive put in oil. any ideas?

Only one problem with this answer. A 1991 Miata doesn't HAVE an EGR system. However, it DOES have a long intake tube snakes from the air filter box near the driver's side firewall around the front of the engine to the intake manifold on the passenger side. The "sucking" sound indicates you probably have a leak somewhere in that tube.
