  • Do you have a wider window sill? If so maybe lean it against the window rather than hang it, you could also secure the chain with the hanging suction cup for extra safety if desired.
  • If you use a suction cup it will eventually fail because the moisture or oil you use to make it stick will dry out. Suction cups just can't take the weight alone. The safest way is to hang it from a chain that is attached to the wall above the window or inside the top (ledge) of the window. Or... stained glass shops sell a U shaped 1/4" clip you can set (screw) to the sill and the glass will rest inside the clips. Once secure on the sill then you can use a suction cup for balance on the top. You just need to make sure the clips are close enough to the window so the suction cup will set properly. You will still need to check the suction cup from time to time, especially in hot weather and re moisturize it.
