I am looking for a free kitten. I live in boulder city nevada. Does anyone have a available kitten?

    I don't think this is the place to be looking for live animals. Ask your parents to find somewhere around your area where kittens are available. ie; pet shops, cat sanctuaries, etc.
    If someone offers you a kitten on the internet and asks for personal details or your address. Please do not give it to them.

    Pet Shops should be right out; kittens in pet shops are nearly always from what would be considered a "puppy mill" in dog land. People raising kittens for money only, and the kittens often have diseases and are in bad condition.

    Consider a shelter in your area. Ask questions! The only con with this one is that without knowledge of the breed, you can't guess how the kitten is likely to act.

    I highly recommend a breeder. They raise kittens to improve the breed standard, not to gain money. Make sure the breeder asks questions about you - do you live in a home or apartment, any other pets, any young children, etc. A backyard breeder (referred to as BYB) is someone who may have good intentions and love pets, but just doesn't know what they're doing. They'll be happy to sell you breeding rights for some extra money, and by doing so, they're creating another BYB - You!

    Make sure you check carefully and don't just snag a free kitten. If you know what to expect and how the kitten will behave, you'll have much higher chances of your new furry friend living a fair fifteen years!
