I'm using some new large crochet hooks that are made from crystalite. The soft yarn keeps sticky on the hooks. Any suggestions on making the yarn slide easier. Would waxing them help? DJB

To avoid unnecessary frustration, I suggest you purchase a new crochet hook, made of aluminum. Otherwise, you risk getting some coating on the yarn.

different yarns slide better and worse on different types of needles. I personally do NOt like any plastic needles, but prefer aluminum or bamboo.

I have no clue why your using crystalite hooks. There made from plastic and I just hate them. I would rather use a metal hook than plastic.

No, if anything, the wax should make the yarn stick more. Check the sewing stores (or the Nancy's Notion catalog for sure) for a silicone liquid used for similar purposes when sewing
