  • You give off a lot of energy. I'd probably say negative energy since I've only seen lights go out when someone is upset.
  • I SWEAR to whatever you believe in, this happens to me so often. I know nobody's going to believe me, but it really does, and I'd love to know why. For me it's limited to street lights though, no other kind. So I can't answer, but you're not the only one to whom this occurs to, at least. :/
  • If you shine a laser pointer at the light sensor of streetlights, the sensor is fooled into thinking it is daytime and the light shuts off. It's a common prank, and someone is just playing games with you.
  • Me too! When I'm driving, crowded roads, abandoned roads, my daily jogs thru the park trails, they cut off as I pass under.
  • you could be magnetized. my friends dad is and this happens to him. he also cannot wear digital watches because they won't work.
  • this happens to me as well. i start work at 5am so when i walk down the street i notice this happening. a friend told me that the lights have thermostats which will shut them off before they overheat. however, i have notice that the lights either turn off or on reliably when i am about 15 feet away, every time. i know that every living thing has an electromagnetic field, which if you could see would extend 10 to 20 feet around you. this field may have an effect on the sensors in the lights. there are sensors which detect light and heat, as well as simple processors.
  • Mental illness.
  • Weird, happens to me too. I would also like to know the answer to this question.
  • You're Al Gore.
  • The lights are slacking.
  • I wish i had an actual answer, but this same thing happens to my girlfriend and her mom....its weird as fuck it creeps me out ahah. like they'll be walking and each light one by one will go out as they pass under it and as soon as they are away from it, it will go back on. And get this...the house they live at the street light in front of their house has never worked!
  • It means watchout or bad luck.
  • That's a very strange phenomenon. It happens to me as well. No idea why.
  • Dude...I totally don't know why it happens, but... ...it does that to me, too. ._. All the time. Every street light that flickers, at some point, always goes out when I walk under it. ... Creepy.
  • It means your children will be born naked.
  • The lights guy is messing with you.
  • Blinded by the unlight. +5
  • It happens to me, too! Street lights are designed to go dim because it saves the city/county on their electric bill. But house lights?! It has been happening for years! I swear, if I find the answer I WILL share it with you. Do radios go fuzzy when you walk near them? +5
  • Lights flicker all the time. I would suggest that you do not pay much attention to the times when the light stays on AND you do not take into account all the times the lights go out when you are not there. But, you remember and make a big deal about everytime it does go out when you are there. So I would say it is superstitious thinking.
  • Unfortunately it means that more than likely you have been abducted by aliens at some point and possibly continue to be as well. Have you ever had trouble sleeping or waking up in the middle of the night wide awake for no reason? I would look into it and yes I am serious. I hope this is not the case though as it can be very traumatic for people.
