  • No. The problem is that 'great sense of humor' is a meaningless construct. The old saw that "I love him/her because he/she makes me laugh" has cause and effect inverted. The person one loves makes one laugh BECAUSE of the connection. Laughter is the expression of that connection, not the cause of it. Of course, unless one is a neuroscientist (or someone very interested in the field), the conscious mind has not been given that conceptual frame. So we live in this mass delusion about laughter being the source of attraction, rather than the result.
  • No...that "all" or "none" is as untrue as "never" and "always". Someone who loves a particular style of comedy may believe he/she has a GSOH..and that might be true in that narrow frame of reference. I don't appreciate "dumb and dumber" humor..I like mine softer, gentler and more subtle. I'm not certain whether we can ever truly evaluate ourselves anyway..there is that "self-serving" aspect to it..we try to put ourselves in the "best" light, don't we? So of course we will believe we are wonderful and magnificent and appreciative of "the right stuff". It's human nature. Happy Saturday! :)
