  • Yes, because it is difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the cell phone. They can find your coordinates sometimes, but the system needs more work. Besides that, if they did get it so they could pinpoint your cell phone, people would complain about being spied on, so there is no winning. http://news.com.com/2100-1033-846744.html http://sunbeltblog.blogspot.com/2005/12/cell-phone-tracking.html http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,9502,00.html
  • Depends on the phone. Some phones are gps equipped and will give your exact location to 911, others merely connect you to the 911 operator closest to your "home" tower.
  • My city and the cell phone carriers here all coordinated so that any call from a cellphone will pin point your phone (assuming it has GPS which most do these days) to within about 50-75 feet. The news anchors tested it one time when it first came out, and it found 4 of them - the furthest they were away from the exact location was about 45 feet.
  • With a house phone it is PIN POint but with Cell phones They pin point the tower your cell phone is going through and are closest to at the moment. Give them a General Area.
